Simple and beautiful.

Pot Roast or Chuck Roast

Classic top down hierarchy with boxed-in information vs Information as small town festival.

Treasure Island newspaper ad
One Stop Foods newspaper ad

Let's look at above fold from information architect's view.
Trasure Island - 26 items
One Stop Foods - 32 items plus logo and store information

On Treasure Island ad, I can only retain Chuck roast and Bananas are on sale and some items are 99 cent. At that point I lost my interest to look further. B/W makes rest of the items monotonus, all seems same size, same messages over and over.

On the One Stop Foods ad, Rice is a hot item and so as Pink salmon and Mac & Cheese and wait there are more deals!!! Strange enough, Pot Roast pops in from below fold ... wherever I look, there are something goin on, lots of noise, just like you are in the festival.

And here are total items listed
Trasure Island - 26 + 62 = 88 items
One Stop Foods - 32 + 32 = 64 items
